Cefil Single-ply flat roof membranes have many advantages including the versatility to be laid directly onto metal or concrete substructures. Cefil single ply has a life expectancy of over 25 years and is fully approved for use by the BBA. It is tested under laboratory conditions to ensure it can withstand everything the British weather throws at it.
Over 3,000,000 square metres of Cefil single-ply have been laid to date with no reports of product failure.
Single-ply membranes are suitable for all flat roof situations and especially on roofs where the removal of the existing roof coverings are not practical. Factories and large commercial and industrial buildings are commonly covered in Cefil Single ply.
Cefil Single-ply is a PVC based membrane which can be either adhered using specialist glues, or fixed mechanically with metal and plastic fixings, depending on the location of the roof and the type of sub-structure it is being laid onto.
Cefil Single ply is fully UV resistant and offers excellent UV degradation qualities. The membrane is fully fire resistant and will not be ignited by flying sparks.
This flexible PVC membrane can be laid directly onto PIR insulation boards without the need of an additional timber deck . It is ideal for both new roofs and refurbishment projects.
The membrane is welded together using hot air, so no dangerous heated appliances are required for its application. The membrane is fully breathable so any moisture beneath the surface of the membrane can pass through it. When correctly heat welded, the 2 membranes homogenise together to create one sheet with the weld being as strong as the sheet itself. When put through a pull test, the membrane splits before the weld does! The ease of application ensures a speedy project, minimising the disruption to your time.
Single Ply flat roofs are also perfect for Roof terraces or balconies and can withstand a range of additional coverings such as slabs, paving, decking or root based Green roofs.
